Last weekend, being Fathers day, was lovely. We all woke up a little late. The kids were delighted to give Daddy the presents that they had made and bought at the Fathers Day stall at school. Of course, I gave him something too.
Then we made pancakes for breakfast. After cleaning up, we decided to head out to Osprey House, a conservation oriented place on the Pine River, just north of our place.
They actually had a pair of nesting ospreys (a large fishing bird of prey) with a nestling of 9 weeks old there. That was pretty cool to see - they even had a CCTV feed hooked up inside so that we could see the goings on in the nest. We went walking on the board walks, looked out at the river, and checked out the displays in the house itself. We also had morning tea on the river bank. Of course Terry and I had fun playing with the camera again.
It was an utterly gorgeous day and we totally enjoyed being out and about together.
