Hearing for a while now about the water coming over the spillway at Wivenhoe dam has made me want to go visit and see. IT's kind of amazing that 2 years ago we were so scared that Brisbane was going to run out of water that they were building desalination plants etc. And now, we have so much water in the dams that they have had to open the spillways to allow for flood mitigation capacity.
A head line the other day said that the amount of water spilling every day would be enough for 3 times the Australian population.
So today, after lunch, we all jumped in the car and took a drive. It was longer than anticipated, but once we got there it was amazing to see the amount of water, flooding everything down stream. Drowning trees and particularly fences gave a good indication as to just how long we have been without that much water in the dam. Awesome.

Yes it hard to believe the amount of water ALL OVER AUS at the moment. Our two up here are overflowing too. Monduein, spelling off, anyway it is near Gin Gin, has not gone over the spilway for 29 years. R-A-I-N over it. Love to all Jan oxoxoxo
